Creationism and Evolutionism Are Both Faiths

Most people have the wrong idea about what the creation/evolution question involves  Instead of perceiving the real issue, they have been deceived into believing that evolution is science.  It is not a science at all.  It is a belief system about the past.  We do not have access to the past.  We only have the present.  All the fossils, all the living animals and plants, our planet, the universe--everything exists in the present.  We cannot directly test the past using the scientific method (which involves repeating things and watching them happen) since all evidence that we have is in the present.

It is important to understand that special creation, by definition, is also a belief about the past.  The difference is that creationists base their understanding of creation upon a book which claims to be the Word of the One who was there, who knows everything there is to know about everything, and who tells us what happened.  Evolution comes from the words of men who were not there and who do not claim to be omniscient.  This whole issue revolves around whether we believe the words of God who was there, or the words of fallible humans (no matter how qualified) who were not there.

If you've got ten minutes, take a look at this video on "the watchmaker" and let me know what you think about it.

I didn't go beyond the first couple minutes because it is nothing more than the same tired arguments trying to prove the unscientific faith of evolutionism. Evolution is a lie, with nothing but speculations, assumptions, and assertions to back it up. Absolutely NO science. End of discussion.

On another topic... How do you fit the Toba eruption ash layer (74,000 years ago) and the K-T iridium layer (66 million years ago) into your views on our planet's history?

You have the dates wrong. These dates are based on speculations, assumptions, and assertions. Firstly, who's to say that the earth wasn't created with the K-T layer? Dating that and the ash layer are based on biased ideology and made up dates.

Thanks for giving your time on these matters. One last (?) question is regarding a book on volcanoes by Savino & Jones that I am almost finished reading. They claim that 99.9% of all species that have existed are now extinct. Do you find that plausible?

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

No, because in order to know the percentage of extinction, they would have to know the total number of species, which they cannot know. It's just one of those statements to promote an agenda. Anyone can make up numbers.

Anonymous,
As an example of my point in regards to the statistic about what species have existed, I just read a very timely article about species not previously known:
