Our Cultural Depravity
In a society where philosophers and “ethicists” decide what is right or wrong, anything is possible. Their intellect will justify robbery, murder, and adultery, albeit under different names and definitions. No matter how refined such people appear, they can never be trusted. No matter how refined such a society appears, it is capable of the greatest evils.
There is only one force that can be trusted to steer a person away from sin: fear of God. Those who are guided by fear of God, who know that God is watching them at all times and knows their innermost thoughts, will not easily fall prey to sin. They will not find it easy to rationalize evil. They may succumb to their temptations at times, but fear of God is the ultimate emergency brake. Those who lack fear of God have no boundaries. If they cannot cross a red line they will simply redefine it as green.
It is no coincidence that the greatest evils are once again being perpetrated by those who are educated, intellectual, sophisticated, and genteel. They speak in highfalutin terms about saving the planet and all those who roam it, though they will need to eliminate many of the latter (themselves excluded) for the sake of the rest. You go first.

Fight for Freedom
It is easier to fight for freedom than to preserve it, and the children of World War II vets passed judgment on their fathers during the 1960s and 1970s.
Somehow I feel my generation is responsible for the children of the lost decades who rejected most of the values and liberties we fought for and many died to preserve. Blood-bought freedoms are seldom cherished by those who have not suffered or fought to preserve them.

Upside Down Politics
Getting back to the southern border, it perfectly symbolizes the bifurcation of our society. We’re told there’s a health emergency. We’re told we can’t open our businesses or attend weddings or funerals. Yet at the same time, every day, thousands of people pour across the southern border, test positive for COVID, and are then driven to a nice hotel and put up there at taxpayers’ expense.

We Need a Moral Society
We want a society in which we are free to make choices, to make mistakes, to be generous and compassionate. That is what we mean by a moral society - not a society in which the State is responsible for everything, and no one is responsible for the State.
