Totalitarianism will never win in the end—but it can win long enough to destroy a civilization. That is what is ultimately at stake in the fight we are in. We can see today the totalitarian impulse among powerful forces in our politics and culture. We can see it in the rise and imposition of doublethink, and we can see it in the increasing attempt to rewrite our history.

What makes you believe that, honestly? Ordinary citizens like you and I could never take on the advanced weaponry that governments have today.
The Chinese Communist Party is a perfect example of a totalitarian system that does not look like it will ever be defeated except by God Himself.
There are lots of people who enjoy being tortured by their governments and are scared out of their whits end at the idea of having personal freedom.
