If God does not exist, theology is a waste of time. If God does exist, though, everything else is a waste of time if it does not take theology into account.

I believe that these are the two most powerful arguments against Christianity:
1.) The problem of evil. A loving god would never allow people that he loves to go through as much pain and suffering as they have on this earth and would have fixed our problems a lot time ago.
2.) Cures for diseases. The further science progresses, belief in god becomes more and more unbelievable, showing that humans beings can fix our suffering and ails.
I'll be waiting for your reply.
Mike,
The problem of evil is mankind's problem because mankind CHOOSES to be evil. God didn't institute evil, but he gave mankind a choice in how to behave; by following/obeying God or ignoring God. God gave people the ability to choose--otherwise we'd just be robots.
A lot of diseases have been caused by mankind through various poor choices (sexual diseases, e.g.). Disease is part of a fallen world, a world which has chosen sin against God. The God brings to conclusion the earthly realm of man, evil and disease will no longer exist.
And real science always points to the existence of God. Humans have never, ever fixed "suffering and ails."
