A Fetus IS a Human Being--A Person

In some of the ancient nations, parents literally had the legal authority of life and death over their children. They could sell their children into slavery or even kill them! In ancient Rome this was codified into law and was called Patria Potestas.  How barbaric this seems, but if the unborn child in the womb is a person, then laws that legalize abortion today are not that much different from Patria Potestas. Virtually the entire debate over abortion would be concluded if we answered that one question: "Is the fetus in the womb a person or not?" It is my prayer that those struggling with this question would consider what God has said about this issue in the Holy Scriptures:  "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you... " - Jeremiah 1:5

Abortion is NEVER Necessary!

In my 36 years of pediatric surgery, I've never known of one instance where the child had to be aborted to save the mother's life.

Abortion Needed for Sexual Immorality

The sexual revolution required abortion to get rid of human beings whose conception is unwelcome, and this violent rejection of parental responsibility is self-perpetuating. By eliminating the reproductive consequences of sex, abortion encourages more casual sex, which then leads to more abortions. Thus, even though the sexual revolution has resulted in less sex overall, it has led to more sex in circumstances where a pregnancy will likely end in abortion. And as the fundamental solidarity of mother, father, and child is replaced with a selfish clash of competing interests, hearts are hardened as the most dependent humans are met with violence, rather than love.

Society Shifting to a Dangerous Worldview

The view that treats puberty and pregnancy as undesirable processes stems from a more fundamental shift in thinking. Society has slowly abandoned the Christian worldview and its theistic implications. If there’s no God, then there’s no Creator who made our bodies to operate in a certain way. Organs don’t have a teleology—a way that they’re designed to function. If there’s no design, no standard, or no optimal way for organs to operate, then there can be no substandard or less-than-optimal way they function. A uterus can gestate a fetus or not. It can grow fibroids or not. It can be kept in a woman’s body or removed. Likewise, it is reasoned, genes and the endocrine system can progress a body through puberty or not. We can accept the process of puberty or block the hormonal pathways that lead to it. There’s no way our body is supposed to be. It just is, and we can do what we want with it.

As a result of this worldview shift in our culture, some people think it’s possible that any process of the body is optional. That’s why they think puberty might need consent. Indeed, even life itself is a matter of consent for some, which is why physician-assisted suicide is gaining in popularity.

Words Make a Difference

Calling an unborn human a “fetus” or “product of conception” but not a “baby” or “person” changes people’s perceptions of unborn human’s value and makes abortion more permissible.

The Real Reason for Abortion

When Democrats and progressives argue that abortion is about “women’s health” or “choice,” what they actually mean is they want to be able to have sex with whoever they want, whenever they want, without any responsibility whatsoever—even at the expense of sacrificing their children.

The State of the USA

Every perversion known to mankind is being embraced and gradually legalized.  The idea that morality is created by each individual as he makes decisions throughout each day is a step beyond anarchy.

Since Lawrence v. Texas decriminalized homosexuality, we have been in a state of moral anarchy.  Crude and licentious parades with many naked or almost naked men celebrating sodomy are considered by many to be positive and invigorating.

The abrogation of Roe v. Wade in the recent Dobbs decision does not end abortion, but simply leaves the existence of abortion laws up to each separate state.  There are so many different laws now on when it is legitimate to abort a baby.  Thus, the people have decided that it is legitimate for citizens to decide when a life is a life.

When Does Life Begin?

Life begins at conception, for we contend that the soul also begins at conception. Life takes it commencement at the same place and time that the soul does.

Abortion Was NEVER Constitutional

The inescapable conclusion is that a right to abortion is not deeply rooted in the Nation’s history and traditions. On the contrary, an unbroken tradition of prohibiting abortion on pain of criminal punishment persisted from the earliest days of the common law until 1973.

Men and Abortion

The hookup culture only benefited men. And men have benefited from abortion becoming a form of birth control. Abortion on demand meant that men impregnating women to whom they were not married came with no consequences. Abortion meant that men didn’t have to marry the woman they impregnated. Abortion meant that men didn’t have to raise the child they conceived. And abortion meant that men didn’t have to pay child support. Turns out that abortion is many men’s best friend.

The Lies of Abortion

Pregnant women today are alive because their mothers chose life. And they still have plenty of freedom to choose — to choose when and with whom to have sex, and whether to use birth control. For those who point to rape or to teens who are victims of incest, every one of those women have to deal with severe trauma, and all of us should have tremendous compassion on them. But it is a lie from the pit of hell that killing the resulting child — who had nothing to do with the circumstances of his or her conception, and who is innocent, defenseless, and alive — will heal the wounds suffered by the mother. It will only compound them.

Abortion: Advancing Women’s Rights?!?

Humanity sees abortion as an advancement of women’s rights, but in actuality, it ultimately leads to the devaluation of both women and human life by eliminating the true philosophical foundation of where our equality comes from Scripture, specifically, the Trinity. While men, women, and children may not be positionally equal they are by nature equal.  Just as the Father occupies a greater position than the Son, and the Father and Son occupy a greater position than the Holy Spirit, they possess the same nature and are co-equal, co-eternal and co-powerful by nature. Humanity’s attempt at creating an egalitarian society – as now defined by progressives – will only lead to tyranny. Again, if our rights and laws are not determined by God they will be arbitrarily determined by man.

Abortion is a Dagger

Abortion is a dagger twisted into the heart of a woman; and in order not to feel it, she must harden her heart in a way that men do not readily understand.  They may view the matter with cold abstraction.  That is both the strength and the weakness of the man.  For the woman, the developing child is never an abstraction. Abstractions do not kick.

"Playboy" Magazine and Social Engineering

Playboy magazine serves as a tool of “gay” social engineering in that the existence of a thriving pornography industry serves the “gay” cause by morally corrupting the men who use it.  It logically makes them less likely to oppose homosexuality on moral grounds and more likely to support public policies which legitimize sexual license.  Exposure to pornography, especially at a young age, can also be a gateway into the “gay” lifestyle itself.  In the same manner, the “gay” cause is advanced by a successful abortion industry (which also arose in response to the sexual revolution).  The choice to kill their unborn children morally compromises both men and women (making them unwilling to criticize the choice to engage in other forms of immoral behavior), and ensures that the outcome of an unwanted child will not be a lasting deterrent to those who have chosen sexual license over family.  This explains why homosexuals, who by definition cannot bear children together, are among the most militant advocates of abortion on demand.
