We Still Have An Historic Lifestyle

The historic [life] style is founded upon accumulated experience of mankind, and in the United States is influenced by our Puritan heritage. It has many characteristics, and those which are most cherished are the ones against which the young rebel with most vigor.  For example, the traditional style is based on a belief in God as manifested through organized churches. It respects authority. It is patriotic and sponsors a deep regard for the military, in which a large proportion of our population has served at one time or another. It believes that men lead happier lives they practice thrift, charity and personal responsibility. It believes that honest work is good for a man and preaches allegiance to the firm for which one works. It believes in the sanctity of the home (unless where divorce is necessary) and respect for elders (unless they become a burden). One of its basic tenets has always been a naive and beautiful faith in universal education, not merely as a tool for getting ahead but as a way to attain a good life. Finally, it has adhered to conservative modes of dress, speech, music and ornamentation.

At least ninety percent of the American population subscribes to this traditional life style and considers it flexible enough to accommodate anyone willing to give it a fair test. It can be summed up in a series of aphorisms: “A man’s word is as good as his bond If a man works he’ll get ahead. America has usually tried to do the right thing. Get an education and you can accomplish anything. God is watching.”

I would say this is still the traditional lifestyle and those types who rejected this in 1971 are still the same types who reject it now. They want to “rebel against the system” the same way they did in 1971—aggressively and sometimes with violence. They are typically anti-law enforcement. Their sexual morals are about as bad as they can get. That will always be the way the “woke” LEFT operates. They hated the USA then and hate it now.

The real motives of liberals have nothing to do with the welfare of other people. Instead, they have two related goals—to establish themselves as morally and intellectually superior to the rather distasteful population of common people, and to gather as much power as possible to tell those distasteful common people how they must live their lives.

“Gender”

There is no such thing as “gender,” as this word is misused today. Before the American Psychiatric Association (APA) in 1972 went crazy and removed homosexuality from its list of mental disorders, gender was a grammatical term used by many languages (if not English) that categorizes nouns, adjectives, and sometimes verbs as either male, female, or neuter.

The sexually disordered pilfered the term to label an inner delusion that seems to them to be male or female, or a combination of the two, and this inner experience is more “authentic” than one’s human anatomy, male or female—though no physician can locate it in the human body or brain. “Gender” used like this is nothing but a psychological fantasy.

“Progressives”

These are more accurately described as “regressive,” representing an earlier stage in human development when the common man had no say in the governing of his society. Today’s “progressives” are the enemies of democracy and the values of individual freedom and liberty. They were the ones during the Communist Chinese-produced COVID plague dictating the imperative of immunization or losing one’s job and the obligation to wear face masks.

The LEFT’s Normalizing Deviant Behavior

What prompts a person to have a bull-like nose ring? Even if the chances are low, why risk incurring an infection, a septal hematoma (broken blood vessels), an allergic reaction to the metals in the piercing, or scarring? Why risk developing a blood disease, including hepatitis B and C, HIV, and tetanus, from an unsterilized needle? Why risk bumping into something and hitting a nerve, potentially causing permanent damage? And how, exactly, does one effectively handle a runny nose?

How long before the advocates of “anything goes” seek to normalize nose rings so that no one should be aghast when someone in a public position has one? So, why not doctors and nurses, police officers, firefighters, postal workers, and, for good measure, elementary school teachers? …. 

One of the two major political parties seeks to normalize human behavior, which, in a saner society, might be a sorely needed topic of discussion and derision. This political party employs a variety of tactics, such as the renaming of issues. Consider pedophiles. They are attracted to children and would like to groom them, have sex with them, perhaps keep them as sexual slaves, and ensure that they stay silent.

Pedophiles revel in having children at their beck and call, for years on end, if possible. Leftists now refer to pedophiles as “minor-attracted persons.” Voila! You are no longer a predator if you seek to have sex with a child. You're a “minor-attracted person.” It's a lifestyle! It's a choice! Some people opt for it; most don't. It's no big deal!

Once a notable segment of society opens Pandora’s Box and proceeds as if dubious behavior is normal, there’s no end to it. A case in point: The fat acceptance movement is growing in the U.S. With two-thirds of adults now either obese or morbidly obese, and the number growing all the time, it was inevitable that fat acceptance would ‘inch’ forward.

The LEFT Hates History

The left has done a very good job of infecting America with an existentially dangerous strain of cultural nihilism. Millions of American students have been taught to hate themselves and their ancestors, and some people believe that taking pride in their heritage is no different from white supremacy. It may seem convenient, perhaps even wise, to compromise on something like statues of Robert E. Lee. But remember, when they go after statues of Lee, they’re not trying to right historical wrongs or give a voice to the oppressed. They’re trying to destroy American history and the American people along with it.

Those on the left who call Robert E. Lee a traitor and call for statues of him to be torn down have no interest in the historical facts or good faith debate. They only want to sow strife and division within America, so it’s not worth it to engage them on the merits of the argument. It’s all a ploy anyway. They wish to leverage the destruction of statues and American history into political power. Historical nuance and complexity are inconveniences to these people, roadblocks on the path to their political goals.

Leftists don’t really care about racism or slavery or justice. They only care about tearing down America’s history and its heroes, about destroying the common history and identity that make America what it is. A nation without a common history or identity is no nation at all, and that’s the left’s ultimate aim.

Sad State of American Schools

In progressive schools today, rarely do children read “chapter books” before junior high or high school, if at all. Mostly they read “readers,” or short booklets written specifically for the classroom by ensconced educators, not recognized authors. These readers offer hollowed-out stories  of little artistic value. Recently, many of these stories have been saturated with LGBT and CRT influence. They simplify reading skills to offer a manicured experience that can best be described as tedious. It’s no wonder so few children love to read in our age!

Progressives sunk the very idea that we could or should look to the past for insights about how to live or learn. This is why few, if any, modern public or Christian schools study much history before America’s founding.

Today our modern vision of the good life has been nearly universally transformed into the freedom of personal choice, control of your identity, being accepted for who you are, finding adventure, and creating your own path in life. For children of the Left, a slight supplemental variation includes finding meaning in particular causes, like climate change, gender identity, and so-called anti-racism. For children of the right—mostly Christian—they find some small portion of the good life in patriotism and personal faith. But both modern groups—the Left and the Right—roughly share the same modern vision.
