We Must Recognize God In Government

Without God, there could be no American form of Government, nor an American way of life. Recognition of the Supreme Being is the first—the most basic—expression of Americanism. Thus the Founding Fathers saw it, and thus, with God’s help, it will continue to be.

Western Civilization Values Found in the Bible

Western civilization is not based on industrialization. Rather, it is founded on accepting and integrating the values found in the Bible—both the Hebrew and Christian scriptures. At the most basic level, this includes the Ten Commandments, the Torah, and the many teachings of Jesus: the rejection of enslaving other human beings; acting rightly and righteously; and, most clearly, recognizing the difference between good and evil and fighting evil whenever it raises its ugly head.

Palestinian Identity?

The so-called “Palestinian national identity” is a modern construct, engineered for political exploitation and weaponized as a strategic tool against Israel. Unlike most nations that emerge from shared history, culture, or language, the Palestinian identity was cobbled together in the mid-20th century, not out of genuine heritage but as a calculated move by Arab powers to foster opposition to the Jewish State. It was an artificial project, devoid of organic roots, and aimed squarely at delegitimizing Israel’s existence.

Palestinian Arab Aggression Long Before 1948

It’s also important to highlight that Palestinian Arabs weren’t passive bystanders in 1948. They actively fought against Palestinian Jews, both before and during the war. The Arab Liberation Army and local militias coordinated attacks on Jewish towns and settlements. Even before the war officially began, there was a civil conflict starting in November 1947. Palestinian Arab fighters imposed brutal sieges on Jewish cities, such as Jerusalem, cutting off food and supplies. Groups like the “Army of the Holy War” led heavy assaults and controlled critical routes, including the main road between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

But Arab hostility didn’t start 1947. Violence against Jews in Palestine has a long and bloody history. The infamous chant “Itbah Al Yahoo” (“Slaughter the Jews”) predates the establishment of Israel by centuries. Let’s not forget the 1517 massacres by the Ottoman Empire or the 1834 Safed pogrom, where hundreds of Jews were raped and murdered. The 20th century saw a string of atrocities, from the 1920 Nebi Musa riots to the 1929 Hebron massacre and the anti-Jewish violence of the 1936-1939 Arab Revolt.

Double Standards in Sympathy

Here’s the hard truth: The world has largely ignored the Jewish refugees because their story doesn’t fit the convenient narrative of Israel as the villain. This is especially glaring in the global context of World War II, when 30-40 million people were displaced or expelled across Europe and Asia. While the international community worked to resettle these refugees, it became obsessed with the Palestinian refugee issue.

Palestinian refugees were place in camps in Jordan Lebanon, and Syria and denied citizenship by Arab countries—a policy designed to keep the conflict alive. Meanwhile, Jewish refugees were welcomed and absorbed by Israel, where they rebuilt their lives and contributed to the nation’s success.

We Need to Overrule the LEFT

With few exceptions, the Left as we know it today has rejected populism out of hand, embracing instead Big Government, Big Business, Big Banks, Big Tech, Big Pharma, Big Labor, Big Ag, Big Media, and Big Entertainment. For the most part, today’s Left is hard at work fortifying the power these institutions wield against the rigors of democratic accountability.

Thus the only hope for a sustainable, democratically legitimate populist reform movement today is on the Right. The question is whether the leaders of the movement can harness the highly negative energy from which the populism emerges and channel it toward a coherent, positive politics of national renewal and reform.

America’s Founding

Yes, we did produce a near perfect republic. But will they keep it? Or will they, in the enjoyment of plenty, lose the memory of freedom?

Politics

No one will really understand politics until they understand that politicians are not trying to solve our problems. They are trying to solve their own problems—of which getting elected and re-elected are number one and number two. Whatever is number three is far behind.

Government Control of Income?

Another dangerous power toward which we are moving, bit by bit, on the installment plan, is the power of politicians to tell people what their incomes can and cannot be. Here the resentment is being directed against “the rich.”

The distracting phrases here include “obscene” wealth and “unconscionable” profits. But if we stop and think about it—which politicians don’t expect us to—what is obscene about wealth? Wouldn’t we consider it great if every human being on earth had a billion dollars and lived in a place that could rival the Taj Mahal?

Poverty is obscene. It is poverty that needs to be reduced— and increasing a country’s productivity has done that far more widely than redistributing income by targeting “the rich.”

You can see the agenda behind the rhetoric when profits are called “unconscionable” but taxes never are, even when taxes take more than half of what someone has earned, or add much more to the prices we have to pay than profits do.

Watch the Distractions

If eternal vigilance is the price of freedom, incessant distractions are the way that politicians take away our freedoms, in order to enhance their own power and longevity in office. Dire alarms and heady crusades are among the many distractions of our attention from the ever increasing ways that government finds to take away more of our money and more of our freedom.

Magicians have long known that distracting an audience is the key to creating the illusion of magic. It is also the key to political magic.

Alarms ranging from “overpopulation” to “global warming” and crusades ranging from “affordable housing” to “universal health care” have been among the distractions of political magicians. But few distractions have had such a long and impressive political track record as getting people to resent and, if necessary, hate other people.

The most politically effective totalitarian systems have gotten people to give up their freedom in order to vent their resentment or hatred at other people— under Communism, the capitalists; under Nazis, the Jews.

Use Discretion With Political Leaders

One of the painfully sobering realizations that come from reading history is the utter incompetence that is possible among leaders of whole nations and empires—and the blind faith that such leaders can nevertheless inspire among the people who are enthralled by their words or their posturing.

Bad USA Leadership

Based on their actions, the beliefs of America’s leaders today are so far removed from where we started as a nation that it’s incomprehensible.

Watch Out for Ear-Ticklers

We should consider what is said—not with what eloquence it is said. Nor should we look at how it tickles the ears. Instead, we should look at the benefits that it confers on its hearers.

Sound Familiar In Today’s Political Culture?

The new Dutch broadcasting network [after the German invasion in 1940] then set to the task of providing a steady stream of information from the Allies to the occupied people of the Netherlands. The German had anticipated the establishment of such a communication tool by the Allies and issued the “Measure for the Protection of the Dutch Population Against Untrue Information.” With this act, the occupied people would be kept away from “false news” and given information they could trust from officially sanctioned pro-Nazi stations broadcasting from the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, and Czechoslovakia. Anyone caught listening to a unsanctioned station, particularly the BBC and Radio Oranje, would be severely punished.

America is Dying

America is fast mutating from a republic, in which individual liberty is paramount, into an oligarchy, in which conformity is increasingly demanded and enforced.
