Child Care?

It has been estimated that less than 15 percent of all working mothers are happy with the form of child care they have. They are desperately seeking a warm, loving, motherly type of person to care for their babies. They discover that most women who fit this description are home with their own children. (A woman is really looking for someone like herself.)

Children Are In Danger Outside Married Relationships

The most recent study conducted by the US government reports that a child living with mother and her boyfriend are [sic] around eleven times more likely to be emotionally, verbally, physically, and sexually abused compared to children living with their own married parents.  And  children living with their own cohabiting mother and father are four times more likely to be abused in all these ways compared to children living with their married mother and father.  So both biology and marriage matter significantly for child safety in the home.  (However, children living with married adoptive mothers and fathers, of course, tend to be from very healthy and positive homes.)

“Children living with a caretaker other than two biological parents are at greater risk of child maltreatment,” according to a special issue of the Journal of Comparative Family Studies that addressed family violence.  Children living with an adoptive, married mother and father are far less likely to face danger.

According to a study published in the journal Pediatrics, children residing in a home with nonbiologically related adult were eight times more likely to die of maltreatment than children living with two biological parents.

The "Experts" Don't Know About Child Care

The creation and dissemination of knowledge on how to raise children now appears to be one of the greatest academic hoaxes of our times.  Judging from the accumulated evidence, it appears probable that the intelligent, intuitive parent knows as much, or more, about child care as the child educator, the parent-child expert, the psychologist, the social worker or the psychiatrist.

Who Raises Your Children?

When a child is passed from one caretaker to another, what kind of emotional bonding does that child experience (or not experience)?

How can values be passed on from parent to child when the dominant influences in a child's life are paid caretakers, television, and Nintendo games?

Since children model behavior from their parents, what kind of parents will the children themselves be when they grow up to adulthood?

Freudian Child Care Crime

Most of the damage we have seen in child rearing is the fault of the Freudian and neo-Freudians who have dominated the field.  They have frightened parents and kept the truth from them.  In child care I would say that Freudianism has been the psychological crime of the century.
