In our permissive, liberated culture, we have lost God’s unchanging truth, and in the process, we have lost God. When we lose God, we lose the very cornerstone of truth. When we no longer have a basis for determining right from wrong, good from evil, we will, in the words of Aleksander Solzhenitsyn, “decline to the status of animals.” Today our moral distinctions are dissolving into a sea of indulgence. Here is no longer any good or evil, no unchanging truth, no solid foundation upon which to build a life. It’s all shifting sand. Whatever pleases me has become truth.
